CHAMBER ADDS RECOGNITION AWARDS

It is time to start thinking of those outstanding members of the community and nominate them for the Chamber’s new annual awards program.  Below you will find criteria for the awards that will be presented at the Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner, November 12, 2009.  Nominations for these awards will be accepted through Tuesday, September 15, 2009.  Please take the time to look at the criteria for these awards and think of the individuals and businesses that you feel are deserving recognition.

Spirit of the Lake Award : This award is given to an individual who is generally recognized as having made a significant contribution to the prosperity and the quality of life at the Lake of the Ozarks .  The individual is someone who has demonstrated over and beyond leadership and/or service for the Lake area over a period of several years.  The individual should be seen as someone of high character and someone who would honorably represent the spirit of the award.

Outstanding Youth and Mentor Award: This award is given to an individual under 21 who is generally recognized as having made a significant contribution to the prosperity and the quality of life at the Lake of the Ozarks .  The individual is someone who has demonstrated over and beyond leadership and/or service for the Lake area over a period of several years.  The individual should be seen as someone of high character and someone who would honorably represent the spirit of the award.  The recipient will identify a mentor who has had the greatest impact on their life who will also be recognized.

Business of the Year Award: This award is given in recognition of a successful business who has demonstrated ethical business practices, distinguished themselves with dedicated commitment and energetic leadership and is active in the community.  This business has given service to enhance the quality of business life in the Lake area.
